Historic forteresses
The historic fortress of Saint-Maurice consists of three forts - Cindey, Scex (VS) and Dailly (VD), built in between the First and Second World Wars
The galleries of the forts of Scex, Cindey and Dailly reveal the hidden face of military works previously classified as "top secret".
These fortifications stand at a strategic point on a transalpine route of European importance. They show the development of fortifications over 500 years in one place. The underground areas of the historic fortresses of Saint-Maurice will transport you into what was the peak period of Swiss fortifications, from 1911 to 1995, and explain what life was like for their garrisons.
The forteresses are closed until the 15th of March 2020.
