The Toblerone Trail
On leaving Saint-Maurice, walk up to the Lavey heights, following the toblerones.
At the start of the walk, the striking footbridge over the motorway rises in front of you, at the foot of the vineyard. You then leave the road and enter a field where the toblerones, actually the remains of military fortifications (tank traps), are like a vertebral column in the grass. You can then enjoy following the bed of the Courset river, until you reach the place known as “La Pâtissière” (the Pastry Cook), where the Saint-Maurice plain opens up in front of you, dominated by the majestic Cime de l’Est. Walk down alongside the forest to rejoin the Promenade du Rhône.
